Abstract

Vietnam is one of countries where solar radiation is available in most areas. Over the past few years, the economy of the country has continuously developed, which leads to the increase of many kinds of demand, among which the demand on air conditioning is considered quite considerable. However, due to the unbalance between the electricity supply and the demand , due to the need of energy savings and due to the prohibition of CFC containing refrigerants, the use of conventional vapour-compression refrigeration machine should be limited. Dealing with this problem, the paper discusses the ability of application of solar energy for air conditioning systems and presents some schematic diagrams proposed for conditions of Vietnam.
