Abstract

In 1832, during the reign of the Emperor Minh Mang, the first American commercial mission came to Vietnam. They expressed to establish friendly relation with Vietnam. And in retrospect, their great failure was not a failure after all, but they was the first American mission inaugurated the solid friendship which now exists Vietnam and United Sates. The article presents some historical lessons gained from the relationships between Vietnam and United States.
