Abstract

Generally, the theory of dualism of motif study is one of the most important achievements of naratology in Russian literature nowsaday. The advantage of this theory lies in the ability to distinguish divided and undivided natures of motif clearly and consistently. The theory of dualism of motif help foklorists to discover dualistic nature of motif – a unit of narrative in folklore and literature. Through that way, the theory of dualism can harmonize two definitions of A.N.Veselovsky and V.Ia.Propp.
