Abstract

In the March - 2000, in Binh Chanh district, in some hours 1200 Tons of iron sheets at a storehouse were subsided to 20m depth. On 24h April – 2003, 900 Tons of steel plates at the other storehouse in the ward No 25, in Binh Thanh district were subsided to the same depth. The both of storehouses were build on the ground of Holocene sediment. The author analyses the physic - mechanical characteristic of the ground of Holocene sediment in Ho Chi Minh City and shows the cause of the subsidence at two storehouses.
