Abstract

With new material of A. I.Phedorov (7000 Russian idioms), we select 268 idioms with animals constituents. Animal constituents are divided into criterion of living environment: in water, in the land, in the air. Majority of idioms with animals constituents describe people through appearance, innermost feelings character. Animals constituents have different symbol meanings, expressing a national culture./.
