Abstract

This paper examines the financial instability of Vietnam using the balance sheet approach and exploratory factor analysis. We found that the deterioration in financial and non-financial sector balance sheets as well as fiscal deficit resulted in financial instability of Vietnam, thereby offering some suggestions to stabilize the Vietnamese financial system.
