Abstract

From the perspective on the forms, characters play an important role in the creation of structures and narrative discourses in the novels. In this paper, we propose to study the characters in the Southern Vietnam novels toward types of characters in the roles of action. Through the roles of action, we could see the content of the narrative, and more importantly, be able to discover the trends of thought, the key inspiration in the Southern Vietnam novels in the late 19th century and early 20th century.
