Abstract

Nowaday, marine tourism especially, tourist activities in marine protected area have been highly increasing because of the attraction from the biodiversity of marine ecosystem such as coral reef, sea grass systems, and marine life. Nha Trang bay marine protected area is the first MPA in Viet Nam which was established in 2001. Although there were a number of economic benefits, some negative impacts of the tourist activities on natural resources have been concerned. This article introduces some solutions to environmental management of tourist activities in marine protected area have been deployed, as well as the solutions which the author proposed as useful tools to environmental management and sustainable tourism planning. Two major solutions will be discussed in this article includes: Integrated coastal management; Tourist carrying capacity management.
