Abstract

The phenomenon of rural women in the Southwest area getting married to foreigners in recent decades is not only a matter of transnational marriage, but also an urgent signal of instability for some socio-cultural issues in the Southwest area. Basing on the real situation experienced by rural women in the Southwest area, the paper analyses the characteristics and causes of this phenomenon; thereby, looking deep into potential risks in socio-cultural life of the rural Southwest, which affect the conservation of national cultural identity and the ensuring of human resources for the construction of a new rural area in this place.
