Abstract

In Vietnamese culture, apart from the fact that water rice fields play the foundation role, marine element should be attached great importance to. In this light, the paper focuses on the analyzing and justifying the significance of marine element in Vietnamese traditional culture. The paper also emphasizes that Vietnam, with its current powerful potentials from the sea, needs to be deeply aware of marine element in its culture so as to rapidly integrate into marine economic network of Southeast Asia and of the world.
