Abstract

This paper presents the CAD/CAE Method for determining an appropriate layout of cooling chanells in injection molds. In the proposed method, 5 principles governing cooling solution choices are utilized for Cooling Method Selection, Cooling Chanells Diameter Determination, Cooling Chanells Layout, and Cooling Conditions Determination; the functions Fill+Cool+Flow+Warp of Moldflow software package are utilized for cooling calculation; and proposed Cool and Warp Analysis Variables are utilized for cooling solutions evaluation. Also, the results of implementing the CAD/CAE method for the injection mold of water heating equipment cover are presented.
