Abstract

Stomatal movements and photosynthesis of six cultivars of cassava during natural diurnal period (from 6 hrs to 18 hrs) were studied. The data revealed that there was significant positive relationship in stomatal opening and transpiration rate, among the cultivars, during the time course of the day. IAA (2mg/l) quickly enhanced the stomatal opening after 15 minutes of treatment. The roles of temperature and light in respiration and photosynthesis were discussed.
