Abstract

Fisheries have known as a potential field in provinces of the Mokong delta, in which aquaculture feeding has been considered especially shrimp feeding as one of the export sources. Recently, the change of agriculture crops to shrimp crops has been developed strongly in the Mekong delta. The rice-shrimp system has initially given benefits, however, the product yield is still low because of some reasons: Huge death of shrimp due to unsuitable scientific procedure for nursery pond, consecutive change of pH, the water supply has not met the requirement of quantity and quality of water (low salt concentration). Therefore, it is necessary to study on the pilot work of rice-shrimp culture in some areas in order to get experiences, find out a most suitable scientific procedure for rice-shrimp model and to propagate widely to farmers in the areas. The paper has introduced some scientific research and suggested one suitable scheme to serve the rice-shrimp model in the Mokong delta.
