Abstract

In hydraulic fracturing, the dimensions of induced fractures have a close relation. We cannot create a fracture with hundred meters in length but only some centimeters in height. Thus, the “accurate” prediction of the height of induced fractures will be the basis for calculating the others. This article will present the application of iterative method and artificial neural network method to estimate the height of induced fractures for hydraulic fracturing in a layered-stress reservoir.
