Abstract

This paper represents some problems relation to determining reconsolidation pressure value of weak soil in Southern plain. The reconsolidation pressure of the topsoil usually is high and higher overburden pressure. In this case, reconsolidation pressure value it was structural strength of soil, it is not reflected that soil was used to bear high overburden pressure in the past. The OCR value of the soft soil in the lower layer (>10m) is smaller than 1 and reflected that the soil is normal consolidation stage. Meanwhile, the layers are in range of 4 to 10m that usually is determined in overconsilidation stage. This is not correspond to the facts because of the process of soft soil consolidation testing is not sensible way and or preservation of samples is not in good condition.
