Abstract

By applying the positron trapping model (PTM) with detrapping effect, the formation energy of monovacancy in metal copper is calculated 0.89 ± 0.12 (eV), this value is used to estimate the binding energy of monovacancy with atom Ge in alloy Cu 0.5%utGe which is 0.27+0.01(eV). These results are valuable in studies of structures and physical properties of metal Cu and its alloys.
