Abstract

Migration is a popular phenomenon in society. Migration may happen internally in a country or in a larger scale among countries, or even among the continents. There are various kinds of migration within a country, but the most remarkable thing at present is the spontaneous migration from rural areas into large cities. This event takes place particularly in the less developed countries (LDCs) of the world. At the present time in Vietnam, although the urbanization process does not occur quickly, the ratio of city dwellers is still low, but in some large cities such as Ho Chi Minh City and Ha Noi, the rural- urban migration stream is alarming, the number of migrants are increasing more and more. In this article, the author states clearly the modest target, that is to research the various experiences of different countries in resolving the spontaneous migration situation. Through the text, some solutions are proposed to apply in the present condition of Vietnam, particularly in the case of Ho Chi Minh City.
