Abstract

Applying the system approach, culturally geographical approach, and ethnolinguistic approach, the paper examines the contribution values of Champa civilization and Cham culture to Vietnamese and Vietnam culture, in order to show that next to “Vietnamization” trend in Cham culture there is “Chamization” trend in Vietnamese culture. To do that, the paper systematizes and compares the cultural and linguistic data of the two sides Cham and Vietnamese, which were collected, filtered by the author from the field notes in the Cham villages in Ninh Thuận Province and from the dictionaries and the documents related to the Cham-originated place names in the Vietnamese language.
