Abstract

Facing the global environment getting increasingly worse, mid-1990s saw the birth of ecological criticism with a noble mission being to analyze and to point out the roots, in terms of culture and thoughts, leading to ecological risks, and to study the relationship between people and natural environment. With the new key ideology, own aesthetic principles and own objects of study, ecological criticism actually become a new trend for literary research, boosting the trend to associate literary research with global tormenting issues.
