Abstract

The BM criterion is usually applied to analyse the one-machine power system voltage stability. However, there are many problems to solve in calculating the multi machine power system voltage stability margin with the BM_criterion application. A new improved algorithm is proposed and a PC program is created for the multi- machine power system voltage stability margin computation with several tasks. The representative results of voltage stability margin computation with respect to different tasks, such as VAR compensation, load-increase, source-outage and change of network configuration, etc., are performed on an IEEE standard electrical power system and on the Southern Vietnam's electrical power system.
