Abstract

This paper presents the least-squared method to analyze and predict the water level in Vung Tau, Ho Chi Minh city. Based on the hourly recorded water levels in the year 2000, the harmonic constants are determined. For estimating the constituent phases and amplitudes, the 95% confident intervals of the tidal constituents compared to the nontidalconstituents are discussed. The predicted tides in January 2010 are predicted using the computed harmonic constants.
