Abstract

SnO2 nanoparticles have been synthesized by sol-gel method using the simple starting precursor SnCl4.5H2O. The sol-gel process with surface modifying agents (SMAs) (such as PEG, Tartaric acid, Oxalic acid, Citric acid) in the solutions can improve the ability to control nanosize and mesopores of SnO2 thin films. The XRD results and SEM image show that the average grain size of SnO2 nanoparticles is about 13-26 nm depending on the SMAs. The average transmittance of thin films is about 80% in 400-1100 nm region.
