Abstract

This paper mentions the development and application of solidification/ stabilization (S/S) process in management of sludge/sediment containing heavy metals, The experimental Lab-model was set up for studying the S/S process with sludge containing heavy metals taken from wastewater treatment plants at electroplating and tannery factories. The results obtained from the experiments were then evaluated and discussed, and finally, technical measures for reuse of sludge containing heavy metals for producing brick and ceramic colourants were recomended.
