Abstract

The extraction and purification of azadirachtin from 4 years old neem seed kernel planted at Ninh Thuan province consists of two steps. The first one was the crude extraction azadirachtin with methanol and isolation lipid by n-hexan. The residue was concentrated with rotary vacuum evaporator and purified on flash column chromatography. The results on IR and high performace liquid chromatography (HPLC) showed that the compound received was azadirachtin with 95% purity. Azadilăchtin contents was determinded on Hypercil BDS- C18, 5 pm, 125 x 4 mm, column, reversed phase, eluting with MeOH/ H2O, flow rate: 0,5 ml/minute, detected at λ = 217 nm. The results received as follow: Azadirachtin contents extracted with ethanol and methanol were: 3472,48 mg/kg and 3879,20mg/kg neem seed, respectively.
