Abstract

The treatment planing system DSS of Multidata uses some various algorithms to calculate doses for photon beams of LINAC in conventional therapy. Each algorithm of dose calculation requests different kinds of beam data and associated correction for dose calculation in patient body. The accuracy of dose distribution and treatment plan depends on the accuracy of data and algorithm of dose calculation used. The treatment planing system DSS of Multidata has been studied and analysed by physicists for evaluation and application at Choray hospital - Viet nam. The understanding of DSS'S programmes and dose calculation algorithms helped radiation physicists determine clearly the kinds of data which should be collected, understand the methods of data collection, can calculate doses manually and verify treatment plans.
