Abstract

Export is an essential stage of internationalization, especially for developing countries. Export barriers have been carefully examined in international business literature since 1970s. Unfortunately, most of the past studies have been examined export barriers from developed countries, which differ significantly from those of developing countries. The major objectives of this paper are threefold. First, reviewing the literature related to the topic and proposing the research framework. Second, presenting the result of the exploratory research conducted in Ho Chi Minh City with local firms. Finally, the research hypotheses are discussed.
