Abstract

At present, in the world there are many thousand kinds of alloy and steel products meeting variable requirements on technical properties and economic effects. Each country has one or some own steel designation standards based on resource and historical conditions. Therefore, steel designation system according to different standards is very variable and complicated. The authors classified and systematized steel designation standards and built data model on computer. Comparing with classical data books, developed software is better in information quantity and searching speed. Especially, this software has functions to help determining and choosing steel materials. Besides, the software also allows us to use 3 languages: Vietnamese - English - Russian. It is a modern tool and is useful for students, researchers, designers, manufacturers and business men in steel material field.
