Abstract

This paper has 2 main parts: (1) a summary of results from a research project on fingerprint image analysis and matching, completed in early 2000, and recent results. (2) a brief glance at the recent state-of-the-art in biometrics world-wide and in Vietnam, with an emphasis on fingerprint and iris, also touching on the needs to apply image analysis and pattern recognition to certain problems in agriculture and industry in Vietnam.
