Abstract

The ordinary man is created by ordinary life relationships. He is the central character in Vietnamese fiction in the renovation era. With the portrayal of the "ordinary man" character, novels have had an intense capability to discover and reality. Besides, with the "ordinary man", the novel not only reflects reality in all its richness and variety, but also illustrates the aesthetic change of our times. The beauty of our common daily life brightens up profound humanistic affinities. The novels of writers of the renovation era, of Ma Van Khang, Chu Lai, Le Luu, Phan Thị Hoai, Khoi Vu, Bao Ninh and others, are an eloquent proof.
