Abstract

This review is devoted to the mean field theory for spin glasses whose the most important properties are given in [7]. The Sherrington-Kirkpatrick model with infinite-ranged interaction and its solution are presented. The replica symmetric solution and its instability are discussed. The replica symmetry break ing scheme is demonstrated and the physics behind it is discussed. The closed symstem of the state equations for spin glasses and its properties at low tem peratures are considered. It is shown that the mean field theory qualitatively describes many static properties of spin glasses.
