Abstract

Neither Nguyen Trai nor Ho Chi Minh was a historian. In the process of leading their people to accomplish the task of national salvation and liberation, Nguyen Trai and Ho Chi Minh have become great historical figures, which contributed to the making of history. Nguyen Trai and Ho Chi Minh have employed history as a weapon to defeat the enemy, to build up a national culture, and to bring the study of history to new points of achievements in the area of ideology, content, methodology and research methods. Ho Chi Minh has laid the groundwork for the birth and growth of a revolutionary history on the basis of continuing on the achievements in the domain of historical science left by our ancestors, among whom there was Nguyen Trai.
