Abstract
The process of migration has been closely connected with that of exploring and developing Southern Vietnam. Each region has its own attraction which results in the differences in terms of intensity and speed of migration. The article analyzes the migration process under the influence of industrialization and urbanization, each of which serves as the motivation and fulcrum to the other, in HCM city and Southern provinces. Apart from the positive effects which speed up industrialization, the writer also mentions some problems caused by spontaneous migration such as ecological and environmental over-balance, unemployment, social and cultural dilemmas (for example, the differentiation between the rich and the poor due to income gaps.) The article concludes with suggestions on how to regulate migration for the sake of steady development and balance of human resources in the region.
