Abstract

In Vietnam, consciousness of “idlingstop” is limited. Based on the theory role of intentions for behavior, the research surveyed on 120 traffic participants at District 5, Ho Chi Minh City. The results showed that 76.7 % interviewed people knew the idling stop but there were only 40.8 % did it. The main reasons are the lack of knowledge (23.3 %), traffic participants’ habits, they don’t want to change their habits and startup vehicle method. Based on the result, the research also proposed solutions to eliminate the causes of obstructing proenvironmental behaviour idling stop.
