Abstract

Clusters are being used more widely in High Performance Computing due to low cost and good performance. In addition, Grid technology allows connecting and sharing computing resources like clusters. Globus Toolkit 4.x (GT4), a popular Grid middleware, supports different cluster management tools such as PBS and LSF. Supernode II is a PC-based cluster running its own cluster management software, Sysmanson, and it is used as grid node in the campus grid, developed in the EDAGrid project, based on GT4. In this paper, the integration of a cluster like Supernode II into GT4 is presented. Moreover, different aspects from design to experience are also discussed.
