Abstract
When a molecule is relatively small and/or belongs to a point group relatively high symmetry, it is possible to predict exactly its vibrational spectrum. Sometimes there are differences between the prediction and the experiment. Raman spectrum of carbon tetrachloride is an example. This spectrum has 5 peaks instead of 4 . It is possible to resolve this problem basing on the Fermi resonance phenomenon.
