Abstract

Professional knowledge of doctors has been developed and accumulated during their working time. They have learned from each other and through this learning process their individual knowledge and expertise have been developed. The question is why doctors intend to sacrify their time and efforts to provide valuable knowledge to others. This study applies the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) to answering this question. Through directly interviewing 210 doctors working in Ho Chi Minh City, the results showed that the most affected factor of knowledge sharing intention is Attitude toward knowledge sharing (b =0446), Behavioral control toward knowledge sharing (b =0294), Subjective norm of Leadership (b =0126), and of Colleagues (b =0118), with adjusted R2 is of 50.8%. In addition, the factor of Attitude toward knowledge sharing was affected by all three factors investigated in this study.
